Wave Of Sorrow
LP (Item 520927) ECM (Germany), 1990 — Condition: New Copy
An overlooked late ECM gem from these two Russian musicians – working together here in a warm duo mode that's filled with soft tones and really beautiful sounds! Both artists bring a lot to the session – Alperin plays piano and melodica, and also offers a bit of vocals – and Shilkloper plays French Horn, flugelhorn, jagdhorn, and also sings a bit too. Yet the main interplay is usually between keys and horn – a really haunting, echoey blend that recalls the initial excitement of ECM in the 70s – without some of the too obvious modes that might show up in some 80s sessions. Titles include "Unisons", "Toccata", "Poem", "Wave Of Sorrow", "Introduction & Dance In 7/4", "Short Story", and "Miniature". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
