A later effort from the Kid – still flailing away with a steady, modern calypso pop back beat – and very smooth, ultra-laidback vocal approach! The production is very of of the era, but manages to break free of the over-muffled syncopated drum sound of the time. It's not one of Kid's finest albums, but it certainly has it's charms – with the lightly grooving bass, punching horns and vocals! 11 tracks in all: "Buttermilk Channel", "Part Of My Design", "Agony. . .Ecstasy", "Dancin' At The Baisn Douches", "Cold Wave", "So Far, So Good", "Boxed Out", "Call It A Day" and more. (Cover has a cutout notch.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sire/Ze, 1982. Near Mint-
Ha! This one really takes us back! Barry & Glodean
CBS, 1981. Very Good-
A later set from Barry – recorded at the beginning of the 80s with his wife Glodean! The album has Barry and Glodean singing together in a set of smooth modern soul duets – slightly different than his solo work, but with a subdued edge that's still very strongly in the Barry/Love ... Curtom, 1974. Very Good Gatefold
A great little album by The Impressions – possibly their best of the 70s! The record's got a very solid harmony soul approach, and Lowrell Simon wrote and produced a number of tracks with Rich Tufo – giving the album the same sweet sexy sound that he brought to his best solo records, ... Hot Wax, Early 70s. Very Good+
An excellent batch of hard soul grooves from the great Laura Lee! This one was her first for the Hot Wax label – and it's got the raw quality of her earlier singles for labels like Chess, with a hard vocal style that's very much in the Aretha Franklin/Fontella Bass camp – plus some ... Bell, Early 70s. Very Good
This is the second version of an album that was first pressed under the title Back On Top – repackaged here with a slicker cover during the early 70s, to cash in on the fame that the O'Jays were having at Phily International.
