Willy DeVille In New Orleans (Victory Mixture plus bonus tracks)
CD (Item 603794) Big Beat (UK), 1990s — Condition: New Copy
Revelatory material from Willy Deville – who moved to the Crescent City with nothing to lose in the late 80s – and gained the respect, admiration and participation of the same of the best New Orleans musicians of the period! Deville came about in the freewheeling late 70s NYC scene, but was always hugely indebted to swampy, rootsy and soulful music – and it's astounding how well this material holds up after all these years! This Big Beat UK anthology kicks off with all the tracks from the excellent Victory Mixture album, plus 90s live recordings by his Mink DeVille Band with guests the Brass Attack Horns, The Valentine Brothers, The Wild Magnolias and the great Eddie Bo! 17 tracks in all: "Hello My Lover", "It'd Do Me Good", "Beating Like A Tom-Tom", "Who Shot The La-La", "Ruler Of My Heart", "Teasin' You", "Junker's Blues", "Just Off Decatur Street", "Jump City (Live)", "Iko Iko (Live)", "Mee The Boys On The Battle Front (Live)"and more. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
