A groovy little record from Domenico – one that's got the same best elements of his music with Moreno Veloso and Kassin, but which almost has a more intimate feel overall! Most tunes here have a relatively tight song structure – almost always with lyrics by Domenico, although Moreno joins in and sings a bit too – and backed with small combo instrumentation that's mostly played live, but occasionally inflected with the kinds of subtle production twists we've always loved in the music of Domenico! It's always hard to describe the exact charm of Domenico's music – but if you've heard him before – or frequent partners Kassin and Moreno Veloso – then you'll know exactly why we like this one so much. Titles include "Os Pinguinhos", "Cine Prive", "Receita", "Su Di Te", "Sua Beleza", "Zona Portuaria", and "Hugo Carvana".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Some of the most brilliantly baroque work ever recorded by Marcos Valle – an obscure 1970 album that collects together tunes from a few of his odd soundtrack experiments of the late 60s, plus a few others that are in a very similar vein! Astrud Gilberto Now
Perception, 1972. New Copy (reissue)
Killer work by Astrud Gilberto – very different than her Verve sides of the 60s! The album was produced by Astrud, arranged by Deodato – and has that wonderful warm full jazz feel of her classic album on CTI, but also a bit more like some of the funky work of Jorge Ben at the time ... Dresses Too Short
Twinight/Numero, 1969. New Copy (reissue)
The funkiest album that Syl Johnson ever recorded – filled with short, tight cuts that play more like a stack of funky 45s than the standard soul album of the time!
