O Tal Malandro (O Tal Malandro/O Ultimo Dos Moicanos/Morengueira 64/Conversa De Botequin) (4 CD set)
CD (Item 604701) Odeon/Discobertas (Brazil), 1962/1963/1964/1966 — Condition: New Copy
A quartet of 60s albums from the legendary Moreira Da Silva – some killer Odeon albums, all presented here with original cover art, and lots of bonus tracks too! The package is filled with upbeat samba from Da Silva – somewhat playful at times, but always heartfelt and soulful – and served up with some lively arrangements throughout! The arrangements are great – and often offer a nice blend of fuller, jazz-inflected orchestrations with some rootsier samba elements – all captured in the studio with a nice sense of depth, and a bit of echo on Moreira's vocals to underscore some of the darker emotions of the tunes! With bonus tracks, there's a whopping 61 tracks in all – and the set is a great complement to the earlier box set of his work! Albums include O Tal Malandro (1962), O Ultimo Dos Moicanos (1963), Morengueira 64 (1964), and Conversa De Botequim (1966). © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
