A rich Riz Ortolani score for a period piece – but one that also comes across with some lush late 60s elements too! The music's very much in the spirit of some of Ortolani's bigger 60s soundtrack work – as full as mainstream scoring, but with a lightness too – never as fully whimsical as other Italian standouts of the time, yet not without its subtle charms too! The reissue features 15 tracks from the film – all titled after the movie, but each with a different feel. The CD also features a number of tracks from the film Cari Genitori – a more modern story, handled by Ortolani with a slinky mix of 70s erotic/romantic sounds – a bit of electricity in the instrumentation, and tunes that mix up slinky sexy styles with more grooving ones.
