A selection of South African music put together by Hugh Masekela for Uni, ostensibly to cash in on the success he was having at the label with his own work. The odd thing about the compilation is that it doesn't list any artists for the tracks, and instead acts as if the record's more of an ethnographic effort. However, much of the material's on a par with Masekela's generation of South African soul – and shared a lot of modern musical influences. Titles include "Umoya", "Aredze", "Bopedi", "Joala", "Uyaz Gabisa", and "Pretoria". (Cover has a factory sticker in one corner.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of Hugh's most compelling records from the time – cut live at the Whiskey A Go Go, with a jazzy edge that really shows him growing a lot as a musician.
