Warm World Of Jack Sheldon

A great one by Jack Sheldon – very different than some of his earlier jazz work, done in a hip LA easy style that has slight touches of later work on labels like CTI. Don Sebesky scored the arrangements for the set, giving the music a dark easy edge that's a perfect backdrop for Sheldon's airy trumpet solos and occasional raspy vocals. Think of this one as easy jazz gets the A&M touch, and you'll find that you love it as much as we do! Includes versions of "The Look Of Love", "More & More Amor", "Nature Boy", "Emily", "Holiday", "Odd Couple", and "Grazin In the Grass".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of the few cases in jazz where an oft-played classic still resonates with power! A brilliant pairing of the Three Sounds trio with the larger arrangements of reedman Oliver Nelson – easily one of the most soulful bandleaders of the 60s, and a talent who really helps open up the trio's groove! The piano of Gene Harris is nice and sharp – played with a soulful sock ... LP, Vinyl record album

Amazing stuff from Ivan Boogaloo Joe Jones! Unlike some of the other players on Prestige during the early 70s – who often got a bit weaker as the decade moved on, thanks to the departure of some of the better forces arranging and producing the records – Jones kept on playing hard, ...
