Complete Tracks – Aguaturbia/Volumen 2
CD (Item 586429) Record Runner (Brazil), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
The albums Aguaturbia from 1969 and Volumen 2 from 1970, plus three bonus tracks from 1973 – ona single CD! The first album pretty great psychedelic rock effort from the Chilean group – featuring influences from and covers of cuts by psych & blues greats from the US and UK – but done with a cool, unique South American vibe and a groove that is the group's own! The guitar work from Carlos Corales is really something else – from fuzzed out rhythms with exploratory solos, with female lead vocals (in English) and shambling rhythms galore. Titles include "Carmesi Y Trebol" (a 10+ minute cover of "Crimson & Clover"), a psych take on "Rollin' And Tumblin'" with a Cream-like heaviness, plus "Baby", "Erotica", "Ah Ah Ah Ay", "Eno De Estos Dias" and more. Volumen 2 rides on the heavier waves of the first one – fuzzed out guitars, lumbering rhythms, and sweetly spacey female lead vocals! The group's especially great for way it can back a fairly heavy wallop overall, but always with a tripped out psychedelic vibe – it doesn't plod, or get metallic. There's a few originals and bunch of cool covers, and the titles include "I Wonder Who", "Heart Breaker", "Waterfall", "Blues On The West Side", "Evol", "Aguaturbia", "Well An Right" and more. Bonus tracks include "El Hombre De La Guitarra", "Hemorso" and "Bajo El Arbol De Mi Casa". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
