CD (Item 602365) Tam/EM (Japan), 1978 — Condition: New Copy

Spaced-out electronics from Matsuo Ohno – a composer who's probably best known for his work on the Astro Boy cartoons, but who recorded this rare non-soundtrack album in 1978! Overall, though, the set's still got a very soundtrack-like feel – or maybe sound-scape, or even space-scape – given that the electronics have this slow-building quality that really fits the nebula image on the cover – gently shifting tones and pulses which often move forth out of quietness, then come together with a really dark feel overall. The whole thing's pretty darn spooky – but we mean that in a good way – and titles include "Pulsation", "Universal Is Born", "A Brief Tour Of The Solar System & Interplanetary Space", "N Dimension", and "Mandala". Amazing package too – comes with this bonus tiny 3" CD – replicating the 1970 release of Play On Animals, originally only a flexi-disc record, and filled with more great electronics!  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
