Uptempo funky James from the end of the 70s – aimed at the discos, but with that funky sound of earlier days still pretty much in place! In other words, there's plenty of funky instrumentation in the cuts – a bit faster than in earlier years, but still quite nice – plus occasional flourishes of strings, to give the cuts a bit more of a disco approach. Sound Of New York/Becket, 1982. Very Good+
Maybe a bit goofy, but now a classic club track that's survived the test of time nicely as just about every DJ's theme song, with a monster scratchy guitar riff, and lots of that rolling bass pedal groove that was so popular in the early 80s. 12-inch, Vinyl record

2 of Jean Carn's best tracks for Philly! Both cuts show Jean at her soulful best – with the kind of perfectly sensitive backing that Philly International gave her, which mixed jazz and soul, augmented with a nice clubby groove to keep things pumping.
