Probably the funkiest record ever by this landmark soul combo! The Rimshots are one of these groups that you always find their later work, but in their early days they were an absolutely killer combo – with a hard funky groove that virtually defined the funky 45 sound. In fact, their singles were the stuff that funky collectors were going for way back in the day – when nobody collected funky 45s – and this album may well be the only full-length piece of wax that comes close to matching the strength of those singles. 9 tracks in all: "Neighbor! Get Your Own", "Born Funky", "Soultrain (parts 1 & 2)", "Coastin & Crashin (parts 1 & 2)", "In Cold Blood", "Love, True Love! (Please Pass My Way)" and "A Hot Day In Harlem".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Alithia, 1973. New Copy (reissue)
The title and cover may seem a bit strange – but they make more sense when you know that The Escorts were all prisoners at the Rahway State Prison in New Jersey, where they were discovered by sweet soul producer George Kerr! Kerr really gave the group a great chance with this album – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Mind Of Gil Scott-Heron
Arista, 1978. New Copy (reissue)
A great little live album – one that's quite different than Gil Scott-Heron's double-length set for Arista – and a set that serves as a key bridge between his early protest work and his emerging vocal sensibility! The set features a fair bit of longer spoken passages – but unlike ... LP, Vinyl record album

A really great chapter in the long and funky history of the musicians that also played in Lafayette Afro Rock Band and Cane & Abel – and a cool little set that may be one of the best records to ever come from the collective! Lawdy Lawdy Lawd
Numero, 1979. New Copy
Looks like a 12" single, but the set's actually fantastic full album of rare funky soul – the only set ever cut by this obscure southern combo from Birmingham – a group who seem to share the best mix of club and funk styles you'd find on the Atlanta scene of the late 70s! By that, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Family Circle
Sky Disc/Numero, 1973. New Copy (reissue)
A lost harmony soul treasure – by an obscure family group from the Newark scene! Ohio Players Live 1977
Cleopatra, 1977. New Copy 2 LPs Gatefold
Amazing sounds from The Ohio Players – the only live performance ever issued by the group, and a set that captures them right at the height of their mid 70s fame! The sound here is every bit as tight as on their classic studio albums for Mercury Records, but the music has a lot more bite, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Montgomery Movement
Folkways/Numero, 1974. New Copy (reissue)
A massive lost funk classic – one of those rarer than rare albums that's well worth the fuss! Beautiful grooves from the Italian scene of the late 60s – definitely one of the lesser-known soundtracks of the time, but work we'd rank right up there with the best by Piero Piccioni or Armando Trovajoli!
