Great early album by Hino – with a sound that's reminiscent of some of the Impulse work by artists like Pharaoh Sanders or Gato Barbieri. Takao Uematsu, the tenor player, is great, and has an excellent hard reed sound and a very spiritual vibe, and the electric piano player, Mikio Masuda, gives a very cool edge to the sound. Tracks include the excellent originals "Be and Know" and "Reaction", and the album ranks as one of our faves from the Terumasa Hino catalog! (Cover has a cut corner, promo sticker, wear, and flaking in one corner.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of the few cases in jazz where an oft-played classic still resonates with power! The record itself is a key cap to Miles Davis' already-groundbreaking years of the 60s – a bold step forward, not just for his nascent electric sound, but also for jazz in general – and the benchmark ... Atlantic, 1967. Very Good+
One of David Newman's grooviest albums of the 60s – a stripped-down set that features a quartet with Hammond and guitar – all in a vibe that's a bit more relaxed than some of Newman's other sessions for Atlantic! There's a gritty edge to the record – with organ by the obscure ... LP, Vinyl record album
