Jazz Around The Funk Part 1Various

A cool little compilation of sweet funky jazz from the mid 70s – mostly slicker than 60s compilations of this sort of thing, but chosen with a lot of care, and put together with a very unified style that owes a lot to labels CTI or Kudu. If that description's a bit confusing – we just mean that the tracks are funky, although maybe not as hard and heavy as you'd find on a Keb Darge set! Plus, there's a lot of nice little numbers on here that haven't been reissued before, as they've been lying around the vaults of the majors, waiting to be licensed.
