A wonderful follow-up to the first Dirty Laundry collection – and like that one, a killer collection of country soul from the 60s and 70s! The package does a get job of pulling together tunes from disparate sources – material recorded both in the south, and in other parts of the US – all of which represents a real "bubbling under" of country-influenced soul from back in the day. The track selection is extremely thoughtful, and doesn't just include the few bigger names from the genre – like Bobby Womack or Joe Tex – but a surprising array of other singers who didn't always record this way, but who turn in some really great entries.
