Birth
CD (Item 602762) Ignition (Japan), Early 80s — Condition: New Copy
A Dutch group, from the early 80s – but one with a really spiritual feel – more than enough so to live up to their name on this overlooked gem of a record! The group work in this spiraling, open-ended mix of electric piano, modal rhythms, and saxes – often handled in this post-Coltrane sort of way that lets the sax really reach out on the solos, while the rest of the combo find their own groove – a great subtle space that's explored with effortless ease! Tunes build wonderfully – often with a modal sort of groove – and the feel is much more early 70s American underground than you'd guess from the date. Titles include "Birth Of A Sun", "Further In Space", "Marimba Planet", "Cosmic Background Radiation", "Do You Love Music", "Trip To The Nearest Star", and "Brothers & Sisters". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
