Mid 80s magic from the Temptations – a record that shouldn't be as great as it is, given the lame title and cover image – but which still has the group working at a top level! There's a lot of strong generational interplay here between the talents of Otis Williams and Ali-Ollie Woodson – both of whom pen and arrange a good number of the tracks on the set. And the modes here are a nice mix of generations too – music that's got the smoother, more modern touches you'd guess from the date of the record – but which still steps out with the deeper vocal level you'd expect from the Temps! Titles include "Magic", "Don't Break Your Promise To Me", "She Got Tired Of Loving Me", "Oh Lover", "Touch Me", and "Givehersomeattention".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Truly For You
Gordy, 1984. Very Good+
A great 80s set from The Temptations – one of the few Motown acts who managed to deliver great work again and again over the years! The production has some 80s traces that are slightly dated, but the vocals are still top-shelf all the way – strongly moved much more into a mellow and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Anthology
Motown, Mid 60s/Early 70s. Near Mint- 3LP Gatefold
Another one of those overstuffed Motown 70s Anthologies – this time featuring 3LPs worth of Temptations classics, with tracks recorded between 1964 and 1972. The album follows the group right up to their move to ABC, and includes classics like "Cloud Nine", "Just My ... LP, Vinyl record album

Wish It Would Rain
Gordy, 1968. Very Good
An excellent album by the Temps – one that shows the group digging a bit deeper for a harder soul sound, working in a mode that would soon explode into the heavier numbers that would transform their sound completely. Norman Whitfield had a big part in this – as he's the producer of the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sugar N Spice
Gordy, 1969. Near Mint-
There's a bit more sugar here than spice, but the whole thing's pretty nice Motown work from the late 60's. Martha and the rest of the group groove their way through tracks like "I Love The Man", "Taking My Love (And Leaving Me)", "Soul Appeal", "It Ain't Like ... LP, Vinyl record album

Natural Resources
Gordy, 1970. Very Good
Martha & The Vandellas were one of the few Motown 60s pop groups who actually got better as they got past their initial hit status – as this record will nicely attest! Reeves' vocals are fantastic, and very well trained for material such as this – nice little tracks with tight ... LP, Vinyl record album

25 Miles
Gordy, 1969. Very Good
Socking soul, and a key album in the career of Detroit powerhouse Edwin Starr – one that had him stepping forth with a proud, loud groove all the way through! Starr's work was always a bit harder than the regular Motown bag – no doubts because of his more indie soul roots – and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Melting Pot
Stax, 1971. Very Good-
One of the greatest albums ever from Booker T & The MGs – and very different than their early work! The record has Book & Co taking off with a stretched-out jazzy sound – carving expanded grooves that are filled with sweet organ solos, choppy guitar riffs, and some incredibly ... ABC/Dunhill, 1972. Very Good
Killer Four Tops material from the early 70s – and a record that proved that they didn't need to be on Motown to still keep churnin' out the hits! The sound is sophisticated, and pushes past the standard format of the group's good-selling records for Motown – hitting a classic AM Radio ... LP, Vinyl record album
