The first album that Man From UNCLE David McCallum cut for Capitol – a batch of instrumental tunes that was really masterminded by arranger HB Barnum and producer David Axelrod! The record features short groovy versions of mid 60s pop tunes, plus a few instrumentals by McCallum, Barnum, and Axelrod – all done in a way that's half jaunty, and half tinged with the darkness of Axelrod's later work for Capitol. Titles include "The Sugar Cane", "Insomina", "The Far Side Of The Moon", "Louise", "Downtown", "Turn Turn Turn", and "123". (Original pressing. Cover has a peeled spot from sticker removal.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

MGM, Mid 60s. Very Good
Like the title says, a mix of show and Hollywood stuff, with emphasis on the latter. All cuts feature the Schifrin's sweeping piano over a tight small combo sound. RCA, 1976. Very Good+
One of the funkiest albums ever from Henry Mancini – a brilliant reworking of hit 70s cop show themes, put together with a really jazzy groove! A&M, 1969. Very Good
A sweet late instrumental classic from the 60s glory years at A&M – and a record that's far different than some of the earlier work by the Baja Marimba Band! Sure, the group's still got plenty of their "fake" Mexican sound in place here – obviously they can't drop the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Motown, 1970. Very Good
A seminal step forward for this legendary group – easily one of the greatest albums they ever cut!
