Parisorkestern 1949
CD (Item 375927) Dragon (Sweden), 1949 — Condition: New Copy
A great assemblage of some of Sweden's best jazz musicians in the immediate postwar years – heard here in a well-done set of recordings from both France and Sweden from 1949! The group's a smallish one – with a lineup that includes Putte Wickman on clarinet, Reinhold Svensson on piano, Carl-Henrik Norin on tenor, and Arne Domnerus on alto sax – plus the lovely Alice Babs, who joins the group on vocals for 6 of the album's 21 tracks. A few of the dates were radio performances, and the rest were assorted concerts – and a few of the tunes stretch out in longer format than you might have heard the group recording on 78rpm singles. Titles include "Presentation", "Truckin", "Indiana", "Idaho", "Sugar", "Blue Prelude", "Sailboat In The Moonlight", and "I Surrender Dear". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
