Release Yourself – The NIA Sessions

CD (Item 379548) Tuff City/Night Train, Early 80s — Condition: New Copy

The classic NIA recordings of the Fantastic Aleems – a key force in the sound of underground 80s club, and a group who were fronted by vocalist Leroy Burgess! Brothers Tahar Qa & Tund-Ra Aleem wrote and produced most of the work on the set – but it's Leroy's help that really helps the tunes soar with a soulful sound – matching the catchy, snappy 80s groove rhythms with a deeper vocal style that's made the tunes classics for years! CD features the original NIA single tracks "Get Down Friday Night", "Hooked On Your Love", "Release Yourself", "Get Loose", and "Confusion" – plus previously unreleased tracks "Step Out", "Searchin", "Fine Young Tender", and "Blame It On Love" – and a few alternate takes of other tracks! 11 numbers in all.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
