CD (Item 522539) Cameo/Collectors Choice, 1960s — Condition: New Copy

A beautiful collection of vocal group material from the Philly powerhouse Cameo/Parkway – home to some of the best soul and rock work coming out of the city in the early and mid 60s! The set does a wonderful job of bringing forth the best work from both styles – mixing things up in the genre-blind way that you'd often get in radio at the time – going first for great harmonies, and caring less about the exact nature of the group involved. A few cuts here are hits, but there's lots more obscure singles from the label – which makes the package one of the most collectors-oriented that we've ever seen from Collector's Choice – almost at an Ace-styled sort of approach. Titles include "There Goes The Boy" by The Lydells, "The Mountains" by The Sequins, "Everyone But You" by The Skyliners, "Triangle" by The Rays, "Tears In My Heart" by The Impacs, "Remember Me Baby" by Billy & The Essentials, "Down By The Ocean" by The Exceptions, "To Cry" by The Expressions, "Flame Of Love" by Rick & The Masters, "When You Dance" by The Turbans, "Did You Ever Get My Letter" by The Tymes, and "Sandra Baby" by The Gleems.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
