Flaximus/I Won't Lie

Add Item to Want List
7-inch (Item 618756) Kept, 2012 — Condition: New Copy

Psych funk from Brownout! "Flaximous" is a nice little tripped-out number – the horns are killer, coming in tight punchy bursts – with heavy drums and Latin percussion rolling underneath. Add to that a thick bass line and some trippy psych-steeped guitars and you got a pretty wild, though cohesive number from one of the more ambitious groups on the modern funk scene. "I Won't Lie" kicks off with southwestern style guitars and percussion, before the horns kick in and take it to funkier realm. About halfway through the group vocals kick in – which is a pretty sweet surprise!  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
