Bonnie Dobson (1969)
CD (Item 430965) RCA/Rev-Ola (UK), 1969 — Condition: New Copy
Possibly the best-known album from 60s folkie Bonnie Dobson – a singer/songwriter who had a subtle, but strong influence on the sound of her generation! At one level, the record's something of a comeback for Dobson – a return to the studio after many years away from it – reclaiming a few of her key compositions that had been covered by others, but also presenting her own takes on tracks that were rising up out of the pop folk mainstream. But at another level, the set's also got a sound that points towards some of the changes going on at the time – no longer just simple folk, but a mix of honest themes and larger orchestrations – pushing in the direction of Joni Mitchell or Melanie. Titles include a re-recording of her classic "Morning Dew", plus "I Got Stung", "Everybody's Talkin", "Bird Of Space", "Winter's Going", "You Never Wanted Me", "Let's Get Together", "I'm Your Woman", and "Time". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
