Buari
LP (Item 561902) RCA (UK), 1975 — Condition: New Copy
Funky soul from Buari – a native of Ghana, working here in a tight slick funk mid 70s American mode. There's less heavy Afro grooves than you'd hear on a Fela album from the time – but the album does a great job of mixing American style raw funk (by a group that includes Bernard Purdie and Paul Griffin), with touches of African rhythms grooving. Titles include "Ku Ku Maria", "Advice From Father", "Iro Le Pa", "Oh Africa", "Peace", "Then Yebtheyet" and "Karam Bani". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
