Alive!
LP (Item 2082) Blue Note, 1970 — Condition: Used
Nice one! Grant Green's albums from this time are all great – but this is the amazing live album with the version of "Down Here On the Ground" that was sampled by Tribe Called Quest! There's lots of other nice moments on the record, too, like very hard funky covers of "Let The Music Take Your Mind" and "Sookie, Sookie". The group is excellent – and features Ronnie Foster and Earl Creque on organ, William Bivens on vibes, and Claude Bartee on tenor – all grooving hard in a modal funky mode that makes this album one of Grant Green's best from the time! (Liberty/UA pressing. Cover has small splits on the spine and top seam, with some staining along the top and opening.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
