CD (Item 627158) Posi tone, 2012 — Condition: New Copy

A sweet little session from guitarist Ed Cherry – recorded with great Hammond accompaniment from Pat Bianchi – in that soulful, stripped-down sound we love so much from the Posi-Tone label! There's a quality here that takes us back to the sound of Prestige Records back in the 60s – but with an even more vivid vibe overall – incredible notes that fly with ease from the strings of Cherry's guitar – and these full, rich organ tones from Bianchi that really send the whole thing soaring! The pair are great together, and work here with Byron Landham on drums – playing with this open, skipping sound that further encourages the groove. Titles include the Cherry originals "Mogadishu" and "Something For Charlie" – plus "Christo Redentor", "Deluge", "Maiden Voyage", "Edda", and "Chitlins Con Carne".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
