Brit easy exotica! Ron Goodwin was to the British easy scene of the 50s what Les Baxter was to that of the US – a very capable leader with a talent for impeccable arrangements of many different styles, and a mode of going global that really brought the whole thing home. The album was issued as "authentic" one at the time, but they've got a lightly dancing orchestral feel that recalls some of Baxter's best work of the early 60s – not as all-out jungly exotic as some of the more African-inspired records on Capitol, but dreamily exotic like some of his others, with sounds of faraway lands, both real and imagined, coming from the studios in a majestic setting. Titles include "Windows Of The East", "Bazaar", "Old Beirut", "The Cedars Of Lebanon", and "Desert Hero". (Cover has some wear, split seams, and the remnants of a sticker.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Third Cup
Cadet, 1969. Very Good+
An amazing album by the great guitarist Eddie Fisher – and completely unlike his later funk records!
