Alghafiat – Tuareg Guitar From Northern Mali
LP (Item 628601) Mississippi/Little Axe, 2008 — Condition: New Copy
Contemporary work from Mali – but played by a Tuareg group with a very earthy feel! Percussion and guitar dance together at the core of the tunes – often in these simple, hypnotic patterns that change slowly – especially as the chorus vocals come into the mix – sometimes with angular elements that are especially striking – and which make for a record that's got a lot more edge than most modern music we've heard from Mali! The set's got a booklet with notes, but not in English – or else we'd tell you more about the tunes! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
