Free improv, but with a difference! The record's got a feel that's a lot warmer, and more rootsy than others of its nature – almost an earthy, tribal sort of quality – with touches at times that remind us of the music of Moondog back in the 50s! Part of that comes from the group's heavy use of recorders – two of the three members play the instrument – often blown over percussion with a light, airy sound that's nice and sweet – occasionally offset by darker tones on tenor, plus bits of flute, percussion, and some occasional vocalizations.
