A great later entry from Italian soundtrack maestro Piero Umiliani – recorded in the late 70s, but done in a style that's heavy on the jazz of Piero's roots – much more like the sort of Italian soundtracks you'd hear right at the start of the 60s! Some of the recording quality belies the 1979 date of the score, but overall the instrumentation is almost all acoustic, and heavy on jazzy horns – usually used with playful inflections and lots of groovy twists and turns – including a few surprising bossa moments that feel like they've come right out of the 60s!
