Legendary Rockin' R&B – A Collection Of Ultra Rare Black Rockers From The 50s & Early 60sVarious
CD (Item 530744) BBE (UK), 1950s/Early 60s — Condition: New Copy
Rough, raw, and plenty darn rare – a killer set of R&B, blues, and doo wop tracks compiled By Keb Darge & Little Edith – with a groove that's almost as hard and heavy as some of Keb's rare funk collections! The feel here is a lot more 50s than 60s, but there's definitely a funky spirit at work in the material – lots of romping drums, soulful vocals, and tight small combo instrumentation – spun out in a selection of rare singles that have a lot more to offer than the usual grooves from the postwar years! Titles include "You Better Dig It" by Bill Johnson, "Zindy Lou" by The Mariners, "Little Girl Of Mine" by The Electras, "No Time" by The Titans, "Cool Joe" by The Cyclones, "Lonely Travelin" by Lonesome Lee, "Tarzan" by Artie Wilson, "She Can Rock" by Little Ike, "Don't Push Don't Pull Don't Shove" by The Willos, "Hi Fi Baby" by Teddy McRae, and "The Freedom Riders" by Harold Jackson & The Jackson Brothers. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
