Beautiful sounds from the trio of pianist Eri Yamamoto – a player who's relatively new to our ears, but who really impresses us with her tone and timing on this set! The album's one of the more inside we've heard on the Aum Fidelity label – and almost has the appeal of some post-Bill Evans trio material from years back – the kind of piano work that's richly expressive, yet in very subtle ways – a careful balance that's further helped by the work of David Ambrosio on bass and Ikuo Takeuchi on drums.
