This Is Honda
CD (Item 605087) Trio/Ultra Vybe (Japan), 1972 — Condition: New Copy
A great early album from Japanese pianist Takehiro Honda – one of the key jazz talents of Japan in the 70s, and a wonderfully lyrical keyboardist with a style that's right up there with the best American players of the 60s. Unlike later albums, which have Honda grooving with a bit more of an electric vibe, this one's a straight acoustic session – with Honda magically soloing out on relaxed versions of standards like "Round Midnight", "When Sunny Gets Blue", "Secret Love", and "Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise". The album's arranged with that wonderful spacey feel you get on some of these classic Japanese trio sets from the 70s – with impeccable sound throughout! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | ||||||
