A fantastic record that's truly one of Tito Rodriguez's best from the 60s – a very jazzy affair, and one that breaks the pattern of most of his other albums of the time! As the title implies, Tito's working here live at Birdland nightclub – with a jazz-based lineup to match the setting, one that includes great guest work from Zoot Sims, Clark Terry, Al Cohn, and Bob Brookmeyer – all of whom really expand Tito's sound with some wonderful solo work! The tracks here are all longer than usual for Tito, and all much more Latin jazz too – and titles include "Summertime", "Mack The Knife", "Perdido", and "How High The Moon". (Heavy original pressing. Vinyl is nice and clean, and cover is nice.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Groovy groovy Latin soul from Willie, with the requisite mix of originals and pop/soul covers that you'd find on the best of his Verve albums. There's a nice instrumental version of "It's Not Unusual", plus other groovers like "Spanish Grease", "Blues In the Closet", ... LP, Vinyl record album

A landmark album – one that has the Fania All-Stars playing in a Latin club style that greatly influenced dance music for years to come! Oh Girl
Atlantic, 1972. Very Good+
Wicked electric funk from Young Holt Unlimited – and a real departure from the sound of their 60s albums, and a step into a groove that's very 70s-styled overall!
