Incredible grooves from the Scandinavian jazz scene of the 60s – all hand-picked by Ricky Tick records, the folks who are helping to re-ignite the scene in the 21st Century! The tracks here clearly show a link between northern jazz of years past and the current club jazz rhythms of Five Corners Quintet, Jukka Eskola, and others – a love of snapping rhythms, soaring solos, and jazz that's always got a modern edge, but a really straightforwardly grooving appeal! All tracks here are upbeat and lively, and are pulled from a host of rare 60s albums – many of which have never been reissued. Titles include "Pia" by Staffan Ableen, "Big P" by Kjell Karlsen, "Di Da" by Sahib Shihab, "Mr Peter" by Esa Pethman, "Haka Blues" by Otto Donner Element All Stars, "Piger" by Brew Moore, "Cordon Bleu" by Erik Andresen, "The Runner" by Lars Lystedt, "Helsinki At Noon" by Christian Schwindt, and "Buddah" by Jazz Quintet 60.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
