Said I Had A Vision – The Songs & Labels Of David Lee

Add Item to Want List
LP (Item 543938) Paradise Of Bachelors, 1970s — Condition: New Copy

Rare southern soul from the North Carolina scene – a host of obscure tracks issued on a handful of labels run out of the Washington Sound record shop! Musician/producer David Lee is the genius behind all of these tracks – but the range of talent is mighty wide, and includes some killer deep soul numbers, mixed with funky bits, mixed with some great gospel tunes that are recorded with more than enough down-home soul to warrant inclusion on such an ultra-hip set! And the package here is as great as the music – a vinyl-only set that comes with a full-size book of detailed notes on each track – almost Numero-like in its scope, as is the music on the set – and the folks at the label have even included a free bonus download, too – so you can snake the record onto your MP3 player. Titles include two rare tracks by Ann Sexton – "You've Been Gone Too Long" and "You're Letting Me Down" – plus "If Everybody" and "The Frog" by The Constellations, "Party Time" and "Sweet Love Of Mine" by Brown Sugar Inc, "I'll Never Get Over Losing You" by David Lee, "Soul Night (part 1)" by Yakety Yaks, "The Party" by Bill Allen, "On My Way Up" by Relations Gospel Singers, "Ain't It A Shame" by The Singing Mellerairs, "Help Me To Understand" by Sensational Gates, and "Peace In The Land" by The Gospel IQs. (Includes download code and booklet!)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
