African Roots (plus bonus tracks)
LP (Item 615921) Grover (Germany), 1978 — Condition: New Copy
Solid late 70s material from the Skatalites! The material has been issued over the years under different titles – recorded after the group went their separate ways, this reunion brings together a number of the original members with more of reggae vibe, but still a strong emphasis on tight horn lines. Lloyd Brevette is on bass and gets marquee billing on this Grover vinyl reissue, with Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso, Lester Sterling, Don Drummond, Baba Brooks, Jackie Mittoo, Tony Brevette and others. Tracks include "African Roots", "Stream In The Meadow", "Rock Bottom", "Fugitive", "Seven Seal", and the funky "Candle Light". This version has 4 bonus tracks: "Just Cool (Corner Stone)", "Japan Special", "Space Light" and "Rock With Me Baby". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
