Both John Lindberg and Hugh Ragin are players who really seem to thrive best in an open, unstructured setting – which makes this album of spare duets a perfect outing for both of them! The tunes are always nicely thought out – open-ended, yet never just free for free's sake – thanks partly to Lindberg's full sound on bass, which seems to lay this great platform from which Ragin can really stretch out and soar!
