Push 'Em Up/ Deep Within My Heart
7-inch (Item 586436) Mississippi, 1960 — Condition: New Copy
Wow! Rare early northwest soul from Ural Thomas – a killer pair numbers recorded in 1960 – the storming "Push 'Em Up" and tener "Deep Within My Heart" – on this jawdropping 7-inch in Mississippi's North Portland Music Series! "Push 'Em Up" is a really exciting track, especially given the '60 recording date – with a feverish, raucous late 50s R&B groove on one hand, but clearly pointing the way towards the uptempo soul sounds to come later on in the decade. "Deep Within My Heart" is just as great, with some tight harmonies and an unstoppable groove. (Comes in a great, heavier duty cardboard pic sleeve, too!) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
