An excellent record that features the sublime tenor sound of Plas Johnson – set to sad, sweeping arrangements by John Neel! There's a lot of strings in here – but Plas' deep rich tenor cuts through the whole thing majestically, with a soulful power that makes the album swoon and dip, delighting the ears at every turn. Titles include "Bury Me Blue", "Who Is Wendy", "Blue Martini", "Midnight Blues", and "What Would I Do".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

The rest of the lineup's great, too, because James Moody is all over the ... LP, Vinyl record album
