Dance Craze – Rude Boys On The Road – How The Specials, Madness, The Selector & Co Conquered The World
Book (Item 602715) Countdown/Acid Jazz (UK), 2011 — Condition: New Copy
A great little history of the late 70s and early 80s UK 2-Tone scene – when Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Bodysnatchers and other group's were fusing ska rhythms and punk attitude – purely fresh at the time and the best of it holds up strongly to this day! Scene veteran and music writer Garry Bushell spins tales including The Specials' Rude Boy adventures in the USA, the UK in the grip of Madness, the return of Judge Dread and more – with pieces dating back to the original period – including some great reviews. Making it all the more vivid is the rare black & white photos, fliers and original label art. Very nicely done! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
