An overlooked later musical from the team of Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley – presented here in the original London production from the early 70s – done with very much the best flavor of the pair's hits from the decade before! As always, Newley's the best interpreter of his own lyrics – and gets to shine here in a cast that also includes Paul Bacon, Bill Kerr, Rob Stuart, Fred Evans, and Julia Sutton. Music has those great whimsical touches that Bricusse could bring to his best – and things are pretty playful throughout.
