Gumbo 2 – Pretty Ugly
LP (Item 582387) Melting Pot (Germany), 2011 — Condition: New Copy
The first work we've ever heard from beatmaker Brenk Sinatra – and a really captivating set! The record's got a bit more urgency than other projects of this nature – less of the laidback downtempo modes you might expect from a mostly instrumental set of hip hop beats – and often torqued forward with these insistent edges from the keys, really making us wonder what the tunes would sound like with vocals! Fortunately, some of the best do include a bit of lyrics – including some nice contributions from Miles Bonny, who also plays a bit of trumpet on the record. Titles include "The Spirit Of Chad Butler", "One Daaay", "Perdido", "Wolves 2", "Intruda", "Anotha All Nihgta", "Dedicated", and "Everyday Scenario". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
