LP (Item 360093) Island, 1976 -- Condition: Used

Osibisa's smoothing things up a bit by this point -- going for a groove that's partially African-inspired, but which also has some mainstream Caribbean touches, and an overall approach that uses more mainstream R&B styles than on some of their previous records. The sound isn't bad, though, and the best numbers have a smooth jazzy kind of groove setting things up -- almost an African take on the Fantasy Records sound, with a sunny Sunday afternoon sort of feel. Titles include "Dance The Body Music", "Cherryfield", "The Warrior", "Flying Bird", "Sakabo", and "Keep On Trying".  © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
