A nude panther? This one already had our attention with the title – and once we heard the music, things got even better – a very groovy blend of jazz and 60s elements by Sandro Brugnolini & Luigi Malatesta – put together in modes that rival some of the better-known Italian scores of the time! The leadoff tune "Gungala" features great English vocals from Pat Starke, alongside some cool-stepping organ – and that organ returns often on other instrumental tracks, almost creating this Piero Piccioni-like mood amidst the strings and some of the more exotic instrumentation! Even when the orchestrations are a bit more conventional, they're still quite striking – and the score is one of those great Italian 60s efforts that seems to offer up new flavors at every twist and turn. Titles include "Il Serpente", "Gungala Serenata", "Tam Tam Marimba", "Gungala Road", "July", "Sabbie Mobili", and "Afro Free". (Limited edition.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of the coolest Italian soundtracks we've heard in a long time – a wonderful set of tunes that moves from slinky, to easy, to groovy, and beyond! The tunes start out bubbling very spare and slow – with floating piano, moog, and other nice bits – and as the record progresses, ... CD

A very cool compilation of vocal tunes from western films – all themes written by Ennio Morricone, and sung by a range of singers that really makes for some fantastic work! The recordings of the set are mostly from the very late 60s and very early 70s – and although the themes are ... CD

Beautiful vocal tunes from classic Ennio Morricone soundtracks! Although much of the Morricone work we stock is instrumental, and although some of these scores do have a moody wordless vocal approach, a number of other films that Il Maestro worked on did have strong lead vocal themes – sung ...
