Maurice Jarre's great soundtrack for this legendary film by Luchino Visconti – music as driving and dramatic as the story itself! There's a bit less sentimentality here than some of Jarre's other work of the 60s – and a bit less of an epic sensibility too – as many of the tunes have a stark, personal feel – very up-close, even when the orchestrations are somewhat large, and focused on some key themes that spin out with simple, almost stepping sorts of rhythms. Some moments are quite brooding and tense – "Obsession", "Return Of Herbert", "Incest", "Sofie's Torment", "Martin's Theme", "Death Of Joachim", and "Lullaby For Lisa". (White label promo. Cover has masking tape on the seams, a tracklist sticker on the front, and a sticker and WGN Library letters on the back. Label has a sticker.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Great stuff! This is the "alternate" version of Michel Legrand's great score to Les Demoiselles De Rochefort – and it's totally great all the way through! The whole thing's nice and jazzy, totally swinging, and has a groove that you don't get in some of Legrand's other work. We've ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bell, Late 60s. Sealed
A wild soundtrack by Quincy Jones – for this disturbing comedy that starred Walter Matthau, Goldie Hawn, and Ingrid Bergman. The theme, "The Time For Love Is Anytime", is a sad boozy number with vocals by Sarah Vaughan, and arrangements by Jimmy Haskell – but there's also a ... LP, Vinyl record album
