Joe Morris has a wonderful sound on his guitar here – clean, close-up, and very well-pointed, even at some of the more frenetically-improvised moments in the recording! The setting is a trio – with Steve Lantner on piano and Luther Gray on drums – but Morris definitely seems to be the star of the record, in terms of the mix – coming across with a tone that's even bolder than usual.
