Quite possibly the best album ever from Soulstance – the jazzy dancefloor combo who are easily one of the brightest stars in the Schema Records galaxy! Although other Soulstance records have been totally great – very much in the best mix of classic and modern styles that Schema groups are known for – this album's got even more straight jazz instrumentation and acoustic percussion – a really heavy groove at the bottom that never stops moving throughout, and which is served up with a warmth and deeply soulful quality that resonates with the best recent club jazz from the European and Japanese scenes! There's still a bit of programming in the rhythms, but there's also a fair bit of drums and percussion from Gianni Lo Greco – plus live flute, tenor, trumpet, vibes, and other instrumentation that really make the album shine. Alice Ricciardi sings a bit on the set, but most of the groove is instrumental – and titles include "Summer Midnight", "Still In A Dream", "Make A Wish", "Antiqua", "Toka A Bola", "Crossroads", "Eclipse", "Special One", "Cool Plan", and "Moon Vision". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
