Hell
LP (Item 1185) Polydor, 1974 — Condition: Used
JB's wildest album, with a crazy cover that shows him running away from the devil, and great gatefold inner photo with him standing amidst a bunch of declarations of "Hell". The record is a double album filled with lots of different styles from James' funky bag. Nicer bits include "My Thang", "Hell", and "A Man Has To Go Back To The Crossroads" – but the real highlight is the epic 13 minute version of "Papa Don't Take No Mess", as tight and jamming as any cut from Doin' It to Death or The Payback! (Original pressing. Cover has some wear, small splits on the top and bottom seams, and a bit of stuck-on paper in one corner.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
