The sound of jazz in the 21st Century – a bold new wave of acosutic expression and soulful improvisation – served up here in an amazing assortment that features a few previously unreleased tunes! As with other volumes in this Schema series, the focus here is on the strong return to acoustic jazz on the dancefloor – served up mostly by European combos who are steeped in the traditions of 50s hardbop and 60s soul jazz. A few titles here are of older vintage, but most numbers are recent ones – either pulled from pricey import singles, or from previously unreleased tapes by the artists.
